Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, Utah

We took the Toadstool Route which led to an area of unusual rock formations called Toadstools. They are spire-like formations with a boulder perched atop a pedestal rock, like a mushroom or a toadstool. They are formed when softer rock erodes away, leaving a column that is sheltered from wind and water. The Toadstools were interesting, but the surrounding area is amazing!
