Colmar, France

We spent Sunday in Colmar, France. It has been one of our favorite old towns with streets and buildings that look like they came from a fairy tale. This is the birthplace of Auguste Batholdi, the sculptor who designed the Statue of Liberty. The city of Colmar created a duplicate of the statue, but it is only quarter-scale to the original. There are dozens of gold-colored triangles with the image of the statue embedded in the streets and sidewalks around town. I did not know, but the statue’s actual name is “Liberty Enlightening the World”.
