DomQuartier, Salzburg, Austria

We enjoyed our visit to DomQuartier which was created by the prince-archbishops of Salzburg more than 400 years ago. Originally it contained both their residential quarters and a Cathedral, as an expression of their claim to rule both the heavens and the earth. These days it is home to three interconnected museums including the Cathedral Museum, the Residenz Gallery and the Museum of St. Peter’s Abbey. The Salzburg Cathedral is stunning!

We also enjoyed a special exhibit by Hubert Sattler who brought back impressions from his travels around the world. It is always fun to recognize the places that we have traveled to.
