Golden Circle Tour, Iceland

The weather was great for our tour. Our first stop was Thingveller National Park where we saw the evidence of the incredible tectonic rift where the tectonic plates are drifting in opposite directions.

We visited Geysir which is a geothermal area that is famous for its hot springs and geysers. The Strokkur geyser erupts about every 6-10 minutes and usually reaches a height of 49 to 65 ft.

My favorite stop was at the lovely Gulfoss waterfall.

Toward the end of the journey we stopped to visit the Iceland horses which are much smaller in stature than the typical horse in the U.S.
