Hartland, New Brunswick, Canada

We visited Hartland which is home to the longest covered bridge in the world. (1,282 ft. long) It was built in 1901 and was covered in 1922. Before its construction, people crossed the Saint John River via ferry or ice bridge in winter. The bridge dramatically improved transportation and trade for the area. It has a single lane for vehicle traffic and a pedestrian walkway.
