This is our last day of sightseeing in Japan. We have enjoyed visiting this country. The people are wonderful! We have visited with people on the street, taxi drivers, restaurant and hotel employees, people in the train stations, etc.  We went to the peace museum today. It was quite busy with school children out for field trips. At one point, I heard a loud commotion and I looked around to find Toby surrounded by children. One by one they bowed, shook his hand and hugged him. It happened multiple times during our museum visit. Maybe they think he is someone famous.

We started our day at the Nagasaki Peace Park and then toured the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum. On August 9, 1945, three days after the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, the United States dropped a second atomic bomb on the Japanese city of Nagasaki. The bombing, which occurred in the final stages of World War II, resulted in catastrophic loss of life and widespread destruction, hastening Japan’s surrender and marking the second and last use of nuclear weapons in warfare. About one third of Nagasaki City was destroyed and more than 150,000 people were killed or injured.
