As we drove from Gallup, NM to Phoenix we took the 28 mile drive through the Petrified Forest National Park. What a beautiful drive! The desert is painted with various beautiful colors and at one end of the park lies the petrified forest.  We stopped at all of the lookouts along the way. There were several walks that we would have normally taken but there was a cold wind blowing.  It was much too chilly for me.
