Pigeon Island, St. Lucia

This was our first day in St. Lucia. We decided to explore Pigeon Island which is no longer an island. It was connected to the mainland in the 1970’s.  We hiked around the old fort ruins and up to Fort Rodney, an old military base that was constructed in the 1780’s. There are beautiful views of St Lucia from the top of the mountain. We also hiked to the top of Signal Peak with amazing views and we could even see Martinique off in the distance.
