Well, it took a bit to get to Rothenburg ob der Tauber as we boarded the train in Nuremburg with a stop in Schnelldorf where we were to catch a bus. The problem arose when the bus did not show up. Thank goodness for a German couple who were in the same predicament. They were able to call a taxi, which we shared and we finally made it to our destination. It is a well-preserved medieval old town with its half timbered buildings, cobblestone streets and many towers. It is one of four towns in Germany that still have completely intact city walls. It is often described as a “fairy tale” town.
