Sintra, PT (Day 1)

We took the train to a lovely little town in the mountains called Sintra. Sintra is very hilly  with a slightly cooler climate than Lisbon. This area enticed the nobility and elite of Portugal, who constructed exquisite palaces, extravagant mansions and decorative gardens. The first day that we were there we visited two of the castles, The National Palace of Sintra and The Quinta da Regaleira. The inside of the National Palace was very lovely and we enjoyed the grounds of the Quinta Da Regaleira.  There were gardens, lakes, waterfalls, caves and miles of walking trails.
