Sintra, PT (Day 2)
We decided we would take the bus to both of the castles as they sit high atop a very high hill. We visited the Palacio da Pena and took the tour of the inside of the castle. It was beautiful inside and out,with lots of really pretty furniture. It is very ornate.
We also visited the Castle of the Moors which was the first castle that was built in Sintra during the 8th and 9th century. We walked up the very steep staircase to the top where there are great views of the surrounding countryside.
We really enjoyed visiting Sintra. It was a beautiful, hilly town with great food, friendly people and so much to see.
