The Vance Creek Bridge was built for a logging railroad owned by the Simpson Logging Company in 1929. It’s 347 feet high and second only to the nearby High Steel Bridge, which is right down the road. The Vance Creek Bridge was decommissioned in the 1970s during the decline of logging on the Olympic Peninsula.

Toby was very interested in seeing this bridge as he had seen pictures that looked interesting. We took the short hike to see the bridge. I think the pictures may have looked better than what you could see of the structure.
