Yesterday we took the ferry from Port Angeles and arrived in Victoria on a cloudy, overcast day. Today was beautiful, so we took a stroll around Victoria’s harbor.

We also visited the Hatley Castle and enjoyed the lovely gardens. The castle was built in 1908. During World War II, the Canadian government purchased the estate.  From 1940 until 1995, the estate served as a military academy (HMCS Royal Roads and later Royal Roads Military College). In 1995, it became the central administrative hub and historic centerpiece of Royal Roads University.

Our final stop was the Gowlland Tod Provincial Park where we hiked up to Holmes Peak.
