Waiheke Island is the most populated and second-largest island in the Hauraki Gulf of New Zealand. It was rated the fifth-best destination in the world to visit in 2016 by Lonely Planet, and also voted the fourth best island in the world. I can see why, with rolling green hills, beautiful wineries, and lovely beaches.

We took the ferry to Waiheke Island and took a very nice hike around the island. The hike that we chose bordered much of the coastline so we had beautiful views of the landscape, coastline, islands and even Auckland.
